President Obama: So now the newly elected Republican Congress is threatening you, saying you’d better not take action alone on immigration.
Or else what?
They won’t cooperate with you? Like that was going to happen anyway.
Please, please, Mr. President – you’re a smart guy so you’ve probably thought of this already. You’ve got nothing to lose. You’ve been reelected; the midterms are over; if they want to impeach you, they’ll think of some reason, any reason, one’s as good as another for them.
Please, please, take every single action that you possibly can without them within the limits of the law. Go to town. Have some fun. They hate you anyway – might as well give them a reason to.
If they’re going to impeach you, let them do it. Clinton’s popularity soared when he was impeached, and at least he was actually doing something bad. What’s the worst that can happen? Let them impeach away. Let them throw you out of office, if they can find enough racist votes to convict you for nothing. You’ll be a hero. The people with any sense in this country know you’re not guilty of anything.
Everyone knows they’re racist fucks – let them write it in flaming letters on the walls of history.
Flip them a great big bird and go out in a blaze of glory.
